2/3 of a Hat Trick

Several months ago I submitted a story for the "Here Comes the Bride" Chicken Soup for the Soul anthology. Despite receiving an email that it had made it through the first chute, I didn't feel good about it making it through the final round. Having been told stories that it could be rejected up to a month before publication, I fretted. So I conjured up pessimistic thoughts, and kept them simmering.

This will be on sale on May 15, 2012.

On Friday, I received an email that my story is going to be included in the anthology. That makes my second one so far, as far as CS stories. (The collection with my first accepted story is coming out on March 13.)

I'm trying to catch up with Linda O'Connell, a Chicken Soup for the Soul Queen. That means 2 down, 143 more to go...

    1. Congrats! That's nothing to sneeze at. But if you do, wash your hands with Germ-X.

I'm afraid you're gonna have to trade in those old Crocs for track shoes if you want to catch Linda. She's got a good head start.

  3. Janel,
Thank you. Any kind of publication is good.

    Tammy,
Thanks. Have you sent in your parenthood one yet? (Wink wink nudge nudge)

    Lisa,
I'd love to do a book signing in a bar. Oh, you mean "pubs" as publications, huh? Thanks for the vote of confidence.

    Val,
I need track shoes and a jet pack, actually.

  6. Thanks, Pat. I think the success is just due to plugging away at submitting. No one can get published if they don't submit.

  8. You go girl - congratulations... now if I could only get in there. By the time it happens, I'll be trying to catch up with you like you're trying to catch up with Linda!

  9. No, Lynn, I will never have that many notches on my belt. And besides, you're going to be in the "Parenthood" collection, remember? All five us are...

  12. Congratulations! That is great news. I need to catch up with you. I had a story in an anthology a few years ago, but not Chicken Soup, that is the one we strive to get in. I don't know if anyone can catch up with Linda.

  14. Alice with the Unerring Red Pen--I read your story as well. A wonderful one, one that (sadly) I can empathize with. Life is indeed good.

Donna--I don't know about amazing, but thanks.

Janet--Thanks, and I agree. I don't think anyone can catch up with Alice or Linda.

    Katie--Thanks.
