During the past six seasons there have been twists and turns, unflinching looks at various issues--an exciting roller coaster ride, in my opinion.
It seems that the main character (Jax) is going to get undone...and his drive for revenge is what is going to undo him.
On the first episode, Marilyn Manson did a guest spot as a prisoner. I now know why he wears such strange make-up.
What TV show episode did you look forward to with great anticipation? What television series were you the most saddened to see end?
And if you don't watch Sons of Anarchy, why not...?
And Lisa, I was all ready to post this on Thursday to keep to my Monday and Thursday schedule. I had written it on Wednesday night in preparation, combatting my normal procrastinating style. Thursday morning, no "network." No wireless connectivity. The things I unplugged and then replugged (all I really know how to do) did nothing. Thursday night--I spent the evening with my granddaughter. So I was well-intentioned and ready...and technology conspired against me.

ReplyDeleteI prefer Grimm, Salem, Sleepy Hollow and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
ReplyDeleteThose shows are definitely NOT my cup of tea...Thankfully, you ARE. ;)
DeleteWell...SEINFELD, of course! I even liked the finale. My other look-forward-to show was ER. The finale did not make me all that sad, because by that time most of my favorite characters were gone. Let the record show that I never liked Doug Ross or Carol Hathaway, and that to this day I refuse to watch any show with George Clooney or Julianna Margulies.
ReplyDeleteVal--I was sad when ER ended, Seinfeld too. Before that, St. Elsewhere. I thought the finale to "Newhart" was brilliant. Truly brilliant. Breaking Bad was the saddest I've been to see a series end. It was incredible on so many levels.
Delete(And I loved Doug Ross and Carol Hathaway and was so glad when they got together with their twins. But that's why there's six different kinds of pie in a restaurant.)
I am not proud of it, but I really miss Downton Abbey when it's not on. The episodes lately cover too much time span. It needs to go slower.
ReplyDeleteMarcia--Why do you consider this a guilty pleasure? I missed out on the beginning, tried to catch up in the middle, and gave up.
DeleteYou watch shows that give me nightmares. I don't watch Sons of Anarchy, but I hear it throughout the house, as he who watches it has the volume so high.
ReplyDeleteLinda--You should embrace the darkness and simply surrender. I'm sure Bill has the volume up so loudly only because he doesn't want you to miss out on any plot twists and turns.
DeleteFirst, why don't your blog posts show up in my email until the day AFTER you post? I'm always a day behind. Is it the case for everyone who signed up or only me? Just curious.
ReplyDeleteSecond, I don't watch Sons of Anarchy because I know from hearing my oldest daughter talk about it that it is way too bloody and gory for me. She loves it, though, and I heard all the details about the season opener earlier in the week. I've been told that Charlie Hunnam will counteract all my nightmares that would be brought on by the blood and gore and turn them into wonderful dreams, but I'm unconvinced.
Third, my favorite show is Castle (I love the romance, chemistry and humor between the two leads) and I've even taken to Twitter to extol my eagerness for the Season 7 premier coming up on the 29th. I can't wait! LOVE that show!
Fourth - Thanks for the laugh at the end of your post. I feel like the Blog Police now. :) You post whenever your heart desires. The rest of us will just read and enjoy.
Lisa--Maybe Blogspot wants to be in step with me, and--only with me--is a procrastinator?
DeleteCharlie Hunnam IS easy on the eyes, but it's the ugliness, the rawness (kind of like Shakespeare on a motorcycle) that draws me.
And YOU are responsible for that monkey on my back. I didn't even know what Castle was all about until you mentioned it in a post and from the first episode I watched, I was hooked.
And THEN I had to backtrack and watch the episodes I had missed. And NOW I'm wondering...What happened with that car crash? Will they or won't they get married?
Slobbering minds want to know...
Squee!! I'm so glad you love Castle! I did the same thing you did. I saw one episode from season 5 and then backtracked to the very first show in season 1. Hubby and I did a Castle marathon to catch up. lol As to the car crash, I don't know. I'm wondering if it won't end up having something to do with his spy father. You know the father wasn't introduced for no reason---it makes sense to me he'll drag Rick and company into some kind of undercover/spy stuff. That's just me guessing though.
