Almost all of the windows in Nay have shutters, and none of them have screens. The shutters are varied in color. Some are periwinkle, some are celery-green, some are royal blue, and so on. |
This is just one of the many charming homes in Nay. |
One day we spent hiking, surrounded by the Pyrenees Mountains. My skills with a camera do not do them justice... |
The architecture in France is a feast for the eyes. There are little touches of loveliness everywhere you look. |
These pictures almost help to cleanse my mind of that shag rug-image and would make a great computer wallpaper for those of us who just look longingly at photographs rather than actually go anywhere. I am glad you had such a nice trip!
ReplyDeleteTammy--Thanks. And you're right. Nothing can totally remove the memory of Mr. Shag Rug (and his brothers).
DeleteWhat an outstanding trip you had! The bread and cheese alone were worth it! Nude beach...if only I were worthy of it!!!! Never was, never will be. Loved your pictures. Back to work must surely be more tolerable with this images in your head! Hope you have a good school year!
ReplyDeleteClaudia--We just walked and tried not to look. There was no way I was gonna take off a single part of my swimsuit...
DeleteAnd thanks. I have a fabulous principal, which helps...
I am so jealous . . . except for that whole shag rug thing.
ReplyDeleteMama Zen--Yeah, no one wants the whole experience when they hear about Mr. Shag Rug. ;)
DeleteEww shag rug, but then SasQ asked if you caused a tidal wave when you unhooked.
ReplyDeletethose photos are incredible and take me places I've never been.
Linda--Tell SasQ I unhooked, and a tsunami formed and destroyed the entire shoreline...
DeleteThat makes me want to sit in a quaint cottage eating bread and cheese. The hairy-backed gentlemen can go take a hike in the Pyrenees for me.
ReplyDeleteVal--Oh, with the time off you will have in nine months or so, you could take that back hair and spin it into yarn and make tres chic sweaters,
DeleteSweat-ers. Sweaters from the backs of sweaters. Ha!
Lovely, lovely, lovely. *Sigh*
ReplyDeleteLucky, lucky, lucky!
(Well, except for that whole nude beach thing. Some things you just can't unsee.)
Cathy--I watched a Viggo Mortensen movie marathon, and am feeling much better now...
DeleteThanks for sharing your pictures. It sounds like you had a wonderful magical time!
ReplyDeletePat--I'm just returning the favor. You have gone on many trips and have shared photos... so you're welcome.
DeleteWhat marvelous memories. Thanks for the lovely photos. The colors are so vibrant and the architecture is amazing. But so sorry you had to endure the shag rug at the beach.
ReplyDeleteDonna--You're welcome.I just kept averting my eyes, after determining it was NOT a man wearing a fur vest...
DeleteLove the pics, and I'm so envious! France is on my bucket list. I'm reading a book right now, Unwritten, by Charles Martin, and omigosh his writing is great. Part of the book takes place in France, and his descriptions sound like some of your pics. :) I'm glad you had such a glorious time.
ReplyDeleteLisa--As a romantic, you should definitely go to France. What about if you wrote a book that's set in France... couldn't you write it off your taxes? ;)
DeleteGosh, those photos are beautiful! They really make me want to visit France. Maybe someday I'll have my rendezvous with Paris.

Critter Alley
Pat--Sadly, the only part of Paris I've seen is the airport. So, when you go to Paris (not "if") take lots of pictures, so I can enjoy the city vicariously...
