Unfortunately, my son and daughter-in-law's baby has breathing problems. (His face is all smooshed up.) He's malformed. (He has 4 legs instead of 2) And, he has a strange name (Dewey, named for my son's favorite pizza chain).
I'm Sioux Roslawski and this is my blog about writing, dogs, grown-up children, menopause, the joy of a marvelous book, classroom teaching in general, and specifically, the teaching of writing. You can email me at sroslawski(at)yahoo(dot)com.

Now that my granddaughter (a gift from my daughter) is 12, it's time for another grandbaby--one from my son.

You are amazing. I am vegging. Period. You have inspired me to write a humorous essay and submit for possible publication. Ha! Who am I kidding?! CS posts the call outs and then the book date release before I even realize I've been rejected. I am a reject. Have fun teaching teachers. If I can be of help let me know.
ReplyDeleteLinda--Thanks so much for your offer. And I've found the same thing out about CS--I need notice of a new book coming out, and realize, 'Oh, I sent a couple of stories when that call-out occurred... and obviously they didn't like any of them.'
DeleteI think you need to do what several writers suggested: create an anthology of your "rejected" stories, because I've read them--the're anything but losers.
Your smooshed face grand puppy is adorable.
ReplyDeleteI just got a grandpup this weekend! Mine is about 10 times the size of Dewey, and a year older. His name is Pablo, a hound mix, about 50 pounds, mostly white, with reddish speckles and a bandit face. He is rescue dog in Kansas City, whose owner was moving and couldn't take him. Genius met Pablo at the park, and was deemed suitable as a new dog-parent.
ReplyDeleteI am doing nothing in June except making a trip to Norman, Oklahoma to visit The Pony at OU.
Val--Congratulations on the grandpup. I guess Genius is all grown up, since he's now a dog owner?
DeleteJune is my break month because I NEED A BREAK. I'll be writing but I'll be writing at the beach and we both know that really, I won't be writing. :-)
ReplyDeleteDewey is SO CUTE! (Libs was cute in a rat kind of way.)
Cathy--Enjoy June. It sounds like you have lots of fun and lots of work (hurricane repair-wise) to pack into one month. (And look for Libby being the star of my latest book blurb.)
DeleteHi Dewey! (Watch out for anyone named Truman!)
ReplyDeleteShay--I'll give him the heads-up.
DeleteI'm back at work for my online summer class, but will have some time to work on my WIP. Hope you have a lovely summer!
ReplyDeleteMary--What small writing goals have you set for this summer? I'm asking, because whenever that WIP is finished, there are people interested in reading it (nudge, nudge).
DeleteOh, Dewey is so so so cute! How fun to inhale puppy breath and not have to do any of training duties.
ReplyDeletePat--Pug puppies ARE cute. And yes, I enjoy being able to spoil... without having to clean up the puddles and the piles.
DeleteWhat a cutie - how can you not like pugs?
ReplyDeletePuppy looks lovely, I love dogs
