It's rare I order three copies of the same book. But when this trio of writers offered up yet another collection of their poetry, I couldn't help myself.
One for me. One for a friend. And one to give away...
You can buy this book at Amazon if you don't win it. |
Since my tongue is tied (along with my keyboard apparently), I'm giving you a link to check out these writers (in case you're not familiar with them). And at the end of the month (April), I'll draw a name of the lucky winner--the winner of their own personal copy of Three-Note Howl: The Wild Hunt.
Check out Kelli Simpson at her blog. Read Shay Simmons' daily poetry offering on her blog. Get to know Joy Ann Jones by diving into her blog. And keep your fingers crossed...
Leave comments to enter this fantastic giveaway. Leave a gross of them. Leave them often. (It won't increase your chances but it will amuse me.)
(a little Emmylou Harris--in her younger years--for Shay)
Emmylou!!! Swooooooooooooooooooooooooooon. Oh, and thanks for featuring our book! That's really cool that you want to do that. Now, back to my swooning duties....
ReplyDeleteYes, Shay, Emmylou is swoon-worthy, whether during her younger years or now, when her hair has turned silver (and gorgeous).
DeleteAnd you're welcome. It's quite a book.
Formidable wordsmiths these women are. And I still love Emmylou though her beautiful hair is silver and mine is gone.
ReplyDeleteJono--They are indeed incredible poets. And Emmylou Harris STILL has a one-of-a-kind voice.
DeleteThanks for introducing me to three new writers!!! Summer is coming and I hope to have some deck reading time! In the meantime, throw my name in your hat to win a book, thank you. Happy Easter to you too.
ReplyDeleteClaudia--Consider your name in the hat.
DeleteThey are all so talented, I'm glad to see they have a book out!
ReplyDeleteTammy--And to think it's not even their first collaboration. They're busy AND talented.
DeleteI'm familiar with Shay's work, and love it. Thanks for letting me know about the other ladies. I'm definitely in for the drawing!
ReplyDeletePat
Critter Alley
Pat--You're welcome, and I'm writing your name on a slip of paper as soon as I finish this reply.
DeleteThanks for the links and the chance to win. Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteLisa--You're very welcome, and I hope you had a great holiday today.
DeleteCongrats to the trio on their book. As for Emmylou, I am partial to The Ballad of Sally Rose. Not just the song...the whole album. It contains one of my favorite all-time lyrics:
ReplyDelete"Through the valley of the shadow of Roosevelt's nose
Adios, South Dakota, adios Sally Rose"
Val--That is a song (and album) I've never heard of. I will have to check it out. Thanks.
DeleteI have it, of course. On vinyl! ;-)
DeleteI do so enjoy good poetry so...if I say that, like, three hundred times, will I win the book?:-)
ReplyDeleteAlso, I enjoyed your positive spin on poop over at the Muffin (though I'm terribly late getting to it). I guarantee that your manuscript is better than you think! First of all, it's finished. And that's better than poop any day. :-)
Cathy--That only means that you'll have 300 out of 306 (so far) chances. Those odds are pretty slim. ;)
DeleteSo I thought I'd comment again. Just to amuse you. (You're awfully easy to amuse, aren't you?)
ReplyDeleteCathy--Did you know there is another Cathy C. Hall who just left a comment? However, she's a bit nutty. I'm sure the only thing you share is a name...
DeleteI admire poets and wish I could write some good poetry, but I severely suck at it. You are so generous to buy three copies of their book, even more so do give one away.
ReplyDeleteDonna--I am a SS as well (a severe sucker).

ReplyDeleteI don't really have a comment here (you know I love poetry), but I did want to say that I'm thinking of changing my name to Cathy C. Hall. :-)
ReplyDeletePearl
Pearl, or should I say Cathy? ;)
DeleteI'll put your name in the hat.
Thx for introducing me to new highly recommended work!. I'd love to win a copy.
ReplyDeleteMarcia--Shay doesn't like you. She entered a Saturday Writers contest and only got an honorable mention...and you, of course, won. You'd better watch out if you win a copy of the book. It might be boobytrapped. ;)
DeleteI love Emmylou and I love your blog! (And I love giveaways! LOL)
ReplyDeletePat--Me,too. Thank you. And me, too again. Your name is in the hat, Pat. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'd be foolish not to comment to win their book - however, I'm a bit behind... so what else is new?
ReplyDeleteLynn--You said I had a "big behind"? Wow, that's cold. ;)
DeleteConsider yourself entered in the drawing...
