The Power of Our Words

Do our words matter? Does anybody read the lines we write down?

I did a guest post at The Muffin, where I pondered the power of our words. Here is a link, in case you have a few spare minutes and would like to peruse...

These are some of the writers who shared their story
at the 2014 Listen to Your Mother St. Louis show.
My guest post at The Muffin tells about something that happened
to me right after the final show...

  1. Yes, they do matter but we do not always know how they might have moved others! These women look like real contenders that could hold their own. Going over to Muffin!

  2. I know for sure TWO people read the words I write down. Thanks for being one of them.

  3. It sometimes surprises me how often our story is also someone else's, at least in many ways. For that reason alone, our words will always matter.

  4. Words do matter... which why in some cases we need to be careful what we say :-), but in this case as in all the LTYM writers/performers, you all did a wonderful job and all I can say is WOW (oh wait, that's the place where you wrote a piece... two WOWs in one).

  5. I know they matter, but sometimes you never know which ones will matter, and it's usually a lovely surprise when you find that someone was moved or inspired by your words. I know I was just moved by this story, so thank you.

  6. It was a wonderful surprise to see your post on FB and see a fellow adoptee and the wonderful experience you had talking to others as a result of being in LTYM. I was a part of the OKC LTYM this year and it was a powerful experience as well. It is not easy sharing our stories of adoption, and it is so nice to meet you.
