A Miracle!

After spending an eternity three decades four years at college plus an internship, my son has landed a job.

The next time I go to Taco Bell, he will be the the one making my burrito...

Just kidding. He got a job in his field (music therapy) at a state mental health facility about 5 hours away from home. And although soon (within the month) I will have to deal with a completely empty nest, there will have to be some celebrating in the meantime.

When he was little, and even into his teenaged years, he could eat a whole batch of macaroni and cheese by himself.  And he had it several times a week. (He would have chowed down on it every day if we had allowed it.)

After his first interview, I told him that when he became employed, we would go to Sweetie Pie's.  It's a soul food restaurant in St. Louis and has been voted as having the best macaroni and cheese in town.

Now I can rest a little easier knowing he's not going to California or Minnesota or Vermont. At least not yet...

  5. Hi Ms. Roslawski!
It's been almost 6-7 years so I don't know if you remember me, but you randomly stumbled across my train of thought today. :)
Hehe, I googled your name out of curiosity to see if you still worked at Griffith and I saw your blogspot! I guess adults AREN'T technology-illiterate then, huh? (Jokes, jokes.)

Anyways, I just wanted to tell you that I'm glad you're still into your writing. I am too. But without you and Ms. Murray, I haven't been as motivated. I try to balance work, school, and a social life.. so it's kind of hard to find time.

I do dabble a bit now and then. When I write essays or poems for English class, my teachers are usually very impressed. It's all thanks to you guys. You saw a talent in me I didn't know I had!

Anyways, before I go any further, I hope we can catch up sometime. I'll be checking again! ^_^

  6. Kendra--Of course I remember you. Did you move? If you did, you're lucky...The Davis' house got a lot of damage in the tornado right before Easter.

Please email me at sroslawski@yahoo.com. I'd love to hear more from you, and I know Mrs. Murray would, too.
